Midi Magic!!!

Hello fellow bargain hunters and happy Monday!! I hope you all had a great weekend.

It’s been a brilliant weekend for bargains! I have sooooo much to tell you about this week!

I think I’ll start with my gorgeous printed midi skirt from Select.
I popped into Select with a friend on Friday lunchtime and loved the print on this skirt as soon as I saw it. Regular readers will know I have a new found obsession with all things Midi!!
The best thing about this midi skirt is the price, it cost me just £8!!

This skirt will be worn with my black crop top from Primark which featured a few weeks ago. The material is so soft and light, can’t wait to wear it.

I think this skirt will look fab with heels for a night out and flat sandals during the day.

Until next time, keep smiling!

Bargain Madden-ess!

Hello again, I hope you are all well today?

I have the most unbelievable eBay bargain to tell you about.

I was ensconced in one of my regular eBay trawls when I came across these boots. Another item from the seller appeared in my saved searches so I decided to see what else they had for sale.

When I saw a pair of Steve Madden boots for a starting bid of just 99p my interested was certainly piqued. I know from many hours spent on eBay that these boots sell for a lot more than this.
I decided to have a look at the pictures, the boots were in fab condition so I decided to use my handy eBay sniper app.

I was delighted to win the boots for £14.00 including postage. They arrived last night and are in excellent condition, I had thought if I wasn’t keen on them, I’d pop them back on eBay and make a profit but I’ve fallen in love with them!!

I think they will add a really edgy look to girly dresses and look fab with skinny jeans. They are so comfy and the blue zip detailing makes them a bit different, which I really like.

How would you wear them??

It’s been a busy week for bargains, I have lots more to tell you about soon, including my gorgeous new printed midi skirt from Select J

Until next time, stay safe and keep smiling J

Flowerbomb Freebies

Hello Lovelies! Welcome to Tuesday.

I got home last night and was very excited to find a padded envelope had been squeezed through my letterbox!
(And I mean squeezed - hence the squashed box!)
I was delighted to find inside a ‘discovery kit’ from the lovely people Vikor & Rolf Secret Service.

Viktor & Rolf secret service is an exciting members only area. You can access the area by entering codes found on Viktor & Rolf fragrance boxes. The more codes you enter you unlock hidden treasures and new levels!

Inside the kit there is a mini flowerbomb spray, as well as miniature body cream, shower gel and body lotion.
I absolutely adore miniature for weekends away so these are already stashed in my toiletries bag for my next adventure.

Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf is my all-time favourite fragrance, everytime I spritz some on I feel happy. I love the elegance and the girly pink colour of this fragrance. It has such a luxurious feel to it.

In the words of Viktor & Rolf themselves:
Flowerbomb provides an opportunity to 'escape reality and heal the world... It's about transforming negative into positive.'

That is exactly how it makes me feel J

Bikini Bargains! !!

Today I got the most amazing bargain! !
I was out shopping with my Mam and we discovered our local Age UK charity shop opens on a Sunday!

The shop itself is really well stocked and managed, it has the feel of a boutique rather than a charity shop.

This gorgeous bikini caught my eye immediately.

I then realised not only was it from Topshop, it was brand new with the tags!! The top had a tag inside for £13 and the bottoms a tag for £8, making the total price when new £21.
I snapped up this bargain for the amazing price of £2.99!! I just couldn't believe it,  I've been smiling all day!

Hope you all had a good weekend and nabbed some bargains of your own!!

An outfit for ladies day - etail PR Competition :)

Hello lovelies! I hope you are all well today.

I have decided to enter this month’s blogger competition from etailPR. I recently discovered the Chi Chi website and adore the dresses, so when I saw the competition was to win £200 to spend with Chi Chi I just had to enter!
Details of the competition and how to enter can be found on the etailPR blog.

I am currently on the lookout for a dress to wear for ladies day at the races. As you know my blog focuses on bargains and being thrifty so I have chosen my piece from the sale section of the website.

I have chosen this gorgeous Chi Chi ‘Palma Dress’

This dress is a gorgeous colour which could work well with vibrant pops of colour or kept neutral. The dress had beading detail on the halter neck, and had a flared skirt and criss-cross design straps.

The Palma dress was originally on sale for £38.99 and is now just £14.99 so that’s a massive saving of £24.00!

For the races I am going to team this dress with my teal fascinator and nude shoes. It really is the kind of dress which can be worn over and over again, for weddings, christenings and birthday parties.

Check out Chi Chi’s amazing website out for yourself, and if you are a fellow blogger – why not have a go yourself?

I had so much fun putting this post together, fingers crossed I win so I can make my dream outfit a reality (and still have cash left over for more!)

Keep Smiling

Refresh. Recharge. Revive…… well, if you insist!

Today’s bargain does not come in the form of fashion (we all have to have a few days away from the shops at some point!!)

I popped into Heron Foods the other day for a few bits and bobs for the freezer.

As I spend so much time in the gym, I  have become a bit of an energy drink nut! It’s always good to find a drink that rehydrates you and gives you a kick without all the calories.

It’s even better when you manage to get a pack of twelve 380ml bottles for £2!!!
The drink in question is Lucozade revive Lemongrass & Ginger flavour, which contains a mix of B Vitamins to fight tiredness and give an energy release.

I first tried Lucozade revive some time ago and loved it instantly, you can also get two other flavours, Orange with Acai and Cranberry with Acai.

These sell for £2.09 per bottle in my local shop so to get them for less than 17p a bottle is a real thrifty find!!!  I bought 3 cases and I am going to pop back for more!

I’m hoping I find the other flavours at this price too!

Keep smiling J

Smooth as Silk

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend?

It looks as though spring may have finally sprung here in the UK (if dare I say it?)

I’m just back from an amazing weekend away with Phil in Middleton-in-Teesdale, we had a brilliant time and it was just what we needed to recharge our batteries.

I got the most amazing bargain last week, quite by chance. We have a Salvation Army charity shop a few villages from us but it only opens Monday-Friday meaning I very rarely get to browse.

Last Thursday I had a doctor’s appointment so was able to have a quick dash round 10 minutes before closing. Most of the clothing was too big on this occasion but I did find this beautiful Debbie Morgan Pure Silk skirt. The gorgeous mustard colour caught my eye as soon as I walked through the door, then when I felt how light and soft the silk felt, I knew I had to have this skirt for spring. I was even more thrilled when I realised that the skirt in question was hanging on the ‘Sale Rail’ and was just 99p!!!

Looking at the hanger I’d say this skirt is quite old, but I’m not sure exactly how old exactly? It doesn’t appear to have been worn either making it even more of a bargain.

I absolutely adore scouring charity shops for true bargains like this one. I can wait to dress this skirt both up and down. I think it will look amazing with both ballet flats and heels.

How would you wear this??

Until next time, keep smiling and finding bargains!!

Oil? For my hair?? Yes Please!

Hello! HAPPY FRIDAY!!! J

As I mentioned in my previous post, I really want to tell you about a hair-care related bargain today purchased from AVON.
Having previously been an AVON representative myself, I have always loved their products, and I am always happy to try new ones.

In almost every magazine  have read recently, there have been rave reviews of Argan oils for hair, I have always associated oil with making hair greasy. So, when I saw that AVON had their Moroccan Argan Oil with vitamin E products on special offer I just had to give them a try.
I have very long hair so need to make sure I take care of it to keep it in tip top condition and looking healthy.

I ordered the shampoo and conditioner, both of which were on offer for an amazing £1.40 each for 250ml!!

As a weekly treat I also ordered the Intensive mask which was on offer too at £2.75 for 150ml.

A shampoo, conditioner and mask for £5.55 – what a steal!!

I just had a trim at the weekend so decided to use these products afterwards to nourish my freshly cut hair. I took them with me to the gym and washed my hair with the shampoo, the first thing I noticed was the divine smell. The shampoo way luxurious, lathered well and rinsed away easily with no residue.

I then used the conditioner (very sparingly as I knew I was going to follow up with the mask) it also smelled great and wasn’t too heavy. After rinsing I applied the intensive mask to the lengths of my hair only and headed into the steam room for 10 minutes to really let it get to work.

When it came to brushing out my hair afterwards I certainly noticed a big difference, the brush slid through my hair easily and it felt soft and nourished. After my hair was dry it looked very shiny, felt soft and smooth like silk and it smelled amazing. No grease in sight!! They also look fab on my bathroom shelf.

If you are planning to style your hair, I would use these products the day before as the really do leave your hair soft. I would certainly recommend these products especially at this price!! J

Take care, have an amazing weekend and keep smiling.

Teenage Kicks!!

It’s Wednesday – the peak of the week is here again – yey!!

One of the reasons I called into New Look at the weekend was to buy a midi skirt. I really fancied one to team with my growing crop top collection for a different look on nights out.

After scouring the whole of the ground floor and asking an assistant I was no further forward, so I gave up on the idea. I decided to pop upstairs before I left for a browse round the shoes, on my way there I walked past the Generation New Look collection for teenagers and the first thing I saw was a black midi skirt!! Better still it was just £9.99!! I have been known to buy items from this collection before so I picked up a skirt for age 14-15 and hurried off to the changing rooms to try it on, only to find it was actually too big, so back I went for the age 12-13, which fitted perfectly!

For the skirts first outing I am going to team it with my grey heart design crop top, which I bought from Primark for my holidays last year, and my black buckle ankle boots from New Look which I paid just £13.00 for in the sale!!

I’ve got some fab hair-related bargains to tell you about in my next post – watch this space!!

Summer dreaming......

It’s Monday again! Hope you had a brilliant weekend, any amazing bargain buys?
I haven’t been too well over the weekend so my apologies for the lack of presence. Feeling a little better today but still not 100%.

I did manage to nab a bargain this weekend despite feeling rotten! As my regular readers will know I have developed somewhat of a crop top obsession over the past few weeks.
My subconscious must know that we’ve got some good weather on the way! If not then goodness knows when I will get to wear them!

I popped into New Look on Saturday and as soon as I walked through the door this gorgeous little crop top caught my eye. I love the bright Ethnic paisley print, it has a real lazy summer day feel to it.

This is my third crop top purchase in just 3 weeks and the first with a racer back, I think you will agree that this was a steal at just £5.99!!!
This is a slim fit top and the material it extremely soft but not see through like some.

Initially I will wear this with my All Saints denim shorts and River Island sandals, but I think it will give my black maxi skirt a whole new look too. It’s a really versatile top and I can’t wait to wear it.

It’s really a little too early in the year to be planning these kind of summer outfits, but it does help to give me faith we will see some sunshine in the UK this ‘summer’ – fingers firmly crossed!!

Until next time, keep smiling J

Frugal Friday!!

Happy Friday, welcome once again to the weekend!!

Today’s bargain came to me via eBay.
I don’t have many lightweight spring time jackets and wanted one to team with my new floaty dresses and chunky boots.

During one of my (all too regular!) eBay scouring sessions, I came across this cropped faux leather jacket originally from ASOS. The unusual green/grey colour really caught my eye and it seemed to be in excellent condition. With a starting bid of just 99p with a small delivery cost of £3.00 it was certainly worth a cheeky bid or two!

As it happened, I was the only bidder on the jacket so managed to nab a true bargain for just £3.99!! The jacket is fully lined with an off-centre zipper, long sleeves with zippered cuffs and zippered waist pockets. Can’t wait to wear my new bargain.

Have a great Friday, keep smiling J

Disco Diva!!

Happy Wednesday, hope you have all recovered from the Easter break and excess of chocolate!!

I’ve been eyeing up disco pants from American Apparel for some time now, and call me tight if you like, but just couldn’t bring myself to pay £74.00 for a flimsy pair of trousers that I wasn’t sure I’d ever wear!
I put the thought out of my mind until came across this black pair on Amazon from CRAZY GIRLS by accident, whilst looking for something else!
It was the fab reviews that initially caught my eye, I then realised that they only cost £8.38 (including delivery) J

I emailed the seller immediately after purchase to ask if these could be dispatched asap as I wanted to wear them for a night out over the Easter weekend. They arrived super-fast and I was really pleased with my purchase.

These trousers are really good quality and fit very nicely. I wore them with my zebra print crop top from Ebay which was featured in a previous blog.

I love these so much I will be ordering some more in different colours!! CRAZY GIRLS also have many more amazing fashion bargains to be had – I think it will become a new favourite for me!!

Until my next thrifty find – take care and keep smiling :)

xoxo
