Tuesday Thrift

I love the luxurious feeling of having a manicure and love nothing more than having my nails done by someone else. However, like most people I can't afford to do it every week!!

I love experimenting with nail colours and nail art. When I was flicking through my Avon catalogue I was excited to see this nail art tool on offer for just £1.50!!

This will be my first attempt at using the tool, I remembered seeing a design similar to this on a blog last year and loved it.

I can't wait to try some more designs, any tips/ideas would be gratefully received :)

Until next time, stay happy and keep smiling

Sunday Savers :)

I want to start by saying thank you to everyone who is now following me J and for all the great comments – keep ‘em coming!!

This blog is all about being thrifty and tonight I’ve got two amazing bargains to share with you J Firstly it’s these amazing red platform boots. As soon as I saw these I fell in love with them!!

I bought these beauties from Deichmann shoes in the Metro Centre, Gateshead.
I got them in a half price deal making them just £12.50!! They are the most beautiful shade of red and they are soooooo comfy!! Just looking at them makes me smile.  They add a vibrant pop of colour to any outfit and can be styled up or down. They are also available in blue (might even buy those too!!)
Sticking with the red theme I thought I’d tell you about this amazing ruby red lipstick.

I picked this up while doing some grocery shopping in Aldi. It’s a gorgeous shade of matt red.
The lipstick goes on really nicely and lasts well, it has a very pleasant fragrance too.The packaging makes it look and feel much for expensive than it was. This is one luxurious lipstick, and all for the tiny sum of £1.99!!!! I will be checking out the other colours and products on my next visit.
I hope you all had a brilliant weekend :)

Friday Fever!!

HAPPY FRIDAY!! The weekend is here!
I hope you are all well today.
The snow is still with us here, and is forecast well into next week L

We have the Easter bank holiday’s coming soon and I am really hoping for a bit of nice weather over the long weekend……..

Today’s amazing bargain comes in the shape of this GORGEOUS gold dress from New Look which has been reduced from £26.00 to just £5.00 what an amazing saving of £21.00!
I love this dress as it looks so effortlessly classy and could be worn in many ways and the belt is the perfect finishing touch.

Whilst browsing I also came across these gorgeous cut out shoe-boots, also from New Look and also reduced! The beauties are down from £27.99 to £15.00!!

They are the perfect transition from winter to spring (if we ever get one!!) I love this style and think they will look fab with the dress and many other of my outfits!

I think the bracelets I recently bought from Forever 21 would look really good with this ensemble.

How would you wear it?

Have a fab weekend, keep commenting J

The colour is Coral

Happy Wednesday!! The peak of the week is upon us once again!

Check out this Gorgeous little top I got from Asda at the weekend, I only popped in for some vegetables for Betty & Freda!
However I can justify my purchase (I think?!?) as it was reduced to just £6!

It’s snowing here (yet again), the gorgeous coral colour and sheer material of this top help restore my faith that we may actually get a spring, and maybe even a summer this year!!
We’re forecast snow well into next week, I’m hoping the end of March will bring the last of the snow so I can stop dressing in a way that makes me feel like the Michelin man!!

The top looks and feels like it cost a lot more than £6! The pretty detailing on the front and the split at the back all make it that little bit more special!

I think this top will look ace with my faux leather shorts from Be Beau at Matalan and my gorgeous brown cut out pattern heels, which were one of last year’s fabulous bargains from New Look.

I’d love to know what you think of this look, and how you’d wear this top? J

Keep smiling and remember, It’s all downhill to the weekend from here!

Yes to......Tomatoes!!

At 29 years old I still have ‘problem’ skin........

Like many of you, I’ve tried all kinds to help, from natural remedies to creams and gels from the doctor.
As a lot of my skin troubles are hormonal, I’ve been taking Boots own brand Evening Primrose Oil since December 2012 and I have to say it’s really starting to make a difference now.
It is something which you have to persevere with as it doesn’t work overnight, but the results are worth it! I like Boots version as they are suitable for vegetarians and are well priced J

As a busy girl, I’m guilty of not spending enough time on my skincare regime so I’m all for products that save time!!
I was in my local Boyes store a few weeks ago and this funky facial wash caught my eye. At £1.49 I thought it was worth a try! I was so impressed that I’ve since been back and bought another 4 tubes!

I had a quick ‘Google’ to find out a bit more about these products and discovered that this was certainly a bargain!! It’s looks like they’ve had a re-brand of the packaging, which must be why Boyes have this in stock.
The wash smells lovely and is free from parabens, petroleum and SLS. After using it my skin felt super clean and fresh but not dry at all.

I love these kind of bargain Finds! Have a good Monday and keep smiling J

Fit for Friday!

Good morning and HAPPY FRDIAY!!
The weekend is here!

Those of you who know me will know I am a bit of a gym bunny J Bannatyne’s in Chester le Street have recently started to offer Metafit™ classes.

For those who don’t what meta-fit is, this is how its described:
The Metafit™ bodyweight training system is an effective and simple workout created by a former Royal Marine Commando and a national gymnast. Metafit™ combines traditional bodyweight exercises with the latest interval and Tabata techniques to set the metabolism on fire!

I have now done 6 sessions of Metafit™ and I have to say I really enjoy it. It’s a great warm up before another class or gym workout, but equally as good as a quick blast if you are short of time as the classes are just 30 mins each.

I think one of my favourite brands of gym attire has to be USA Pro, Sports Direct are now stocking USA Pro at amazing prices, I got these ¾ leggings for just £9.99 and this lovely lilac top for just £5.99

USA Pro workout wear is both fantastic quality and excellent value. It washes really well and last much longer than some more expensive brands.

Also, don’t forget it’s RED NOSE DAY! Dig deep or do something funny for money!!

Spring Style.....

It’s the Peak of the week! Happy Wednesday!

I posted last week about a fab heart print dress I found in New Look for Just £8 which I wore last Friday night and loved!

I couldn’t resist popping back in over the weekend to see what else I could find in the sale!
I’m loving floaty dresses at the moment, so I snapped up this gorgeous butterfly print dress for just £13!!

I think I’ll team it with my from and my cropped denim jacket from EBay, some black cable knit tights and my gorgeous studded boots from TOPSHOP  J

Until next time, be happy J

When a red nose is cute!

Happy Tuesday!!

This week has got off to a very busy start. I am trying to raise some money for Comic Relief this week so asked my Mam, who is the best cook I know to rustle me up a few cakes for work.

I know Red nose day is officially the 15th March but the earlier I start, the more money I can collect!

I am collecting donations for each cake and I will also make a personal contribution online. I am now trying to come up with some other simple fundraising ideas that I can try between now and Friday!

I couldn’t decide which Red nose to buy, so decided to buy them all!! I also got myself a pin badge and some fun stickers!

You can see here all the fabulous work that happens as a result of your fundraising.
So this week, try and do a little something for Red Nose day if you can J

Flirty Frday!

Happy Friday!!

Yeyyyyyy It’s here, the gateway to the weekend!!

So, I promised you I would tell you about my fab bargain from New Look which I picked up on my visit to the Metro Centre on Wednesday night.

I have been lusting after a new spring dress ever since we had one day of sunshine! This one had caught my eye on a previous shopping  trip but I couldn’t justify spending almost thirty pounds on a dress I didn’t need.
So, you can imagine my delight when I saw it was in the sale for just £8! I love this dress, its fits perfectly and the print is fab. The dress is so light weight and can be dressed up or down. The pictures really don’t do it justice!

This weekend I think I’ll team it with tights, my flat black ankle boots, and a jacket. Or maybe I’ll wear it to go out with some killer heels and jewels?

Any other suggestions of how I can make this dress look even more amazing?

Have a fab weekend, whatever you do!

Burger it!

Happy Thursday!

Today’s blog contains a food-related bargain :)

Last night I met up with my best friend in the world, Amanda, at the Metro Centre in Gateshead. We went to see ‘I give it a year’ at the Odeon cinema.
We’ve been wanting to go and see it since it came out so it was good to get there before they stop showing it. The film itself was pretty good, much better than the last film we saw!!

Having both turned up straight from work, we wanted to grab a bite to eat before the film. We chose the Handmade Burger Company, firstly because neither of us had been there before but mainly because we had a voucher with an offer to buy one burger and get another for £1!

On arrival we were seated straight away, out host was very polite and explained the menu to us and how we ordered. The food arrived quickly and was very nice.
I am a vegetarian (which I am very thankful of given the current horse meat debacle!) and was pleased to see a very good vegetarian choice featured on the menu.

I chose the spinach and lentil burger and we shared a side of chunky chips. My food was really nice and all very fresh and served hot.
At the Handmade Burger company the burgers are served alone and you pick additional side if you like, this sounds a bit tight but the burgers are pretty huge! However a side of salad with the burger as standard would be nice.

When we paid at the till we were given more vouchers for future visits. I will certainly go back again.

Whist at the metro centre I got a couple of fab fashion bargains from New Look which I’ll share with you soon J

Take care and keep smiling

xoxo

Things that make you go MMMMMMM!

Hello and Happy Wednesday! It’s the Peak of the week again!
This week is positively flying by!

I’ve just heard a rumour that Starbuck’s are opening a drive through within a mile of where I work :0

While on the one hand this is great news , on the other hand it isn’t………

I LOVE latte’s from Starbucks, I manage to limit myself to one every couple of weeks but if it’s on the doorstep, and I can get one without even stepping out of my car… that might be a different story!!

I like nothing more than going into Starbucks on a Saturday afternoon, by myself, with my favourite magazine and whiling away an hour with a latte. Of course, you can’t just have coffee in its own, it has to be accompanied by something sweet, and that’s where the Skinny Lemon and Poppy seed muffin comes in!!! These are my absolute favourite treat from Starbucks, and because they are lighter and better for me than a regular muffin I don’t feel so guilty!

So, bring on the new Starbucks – let’s hope the rumours are true!!!

I’d love to know what your favourite ‘me time’ treats are??

Until next time, take care and be happy!

Zebra Love ....

I can’t believe it’s Monday again….. I really can’t :/
Where did this weekend go????

Apologies for my lack of posting over the weekend, as much as it was a quiet one, I just didn’t seem to have 5 minutes!

So, today I want to tell you about another amazing bargain…… I have been thinking of buying a turtle neck crop top for a while, I have some high waisted leather skinnies from Matalan and wanted a top I could wear with them for going out.

New Look have had some fab ones in recently but not in the colours or sizes I wanted!

Last night I decided to have a quick look on eBay to see what was there. This zebra print really caught my eye and even better it was only £3.95 with free postage!!! I am loving the monochrome trend at the moment, so this is my homage to that!

At this price I thought I may as well just buy one and if it isn’t great I won’t really have lost out. So I placed the order last night and I’ll let you know what it’s like when it arrives J

I am planning to wear it with my bargain shoes I recently posted about and some chunky silver jewellery….. any other suggestions on how to make this little top look fab????

Have a great Monday, be happy........and please comment on my blog J
